You can use either, curtain rod (had to do this because it was such large window), tension rod that goes on the inside of the window or even heavy string across wrap around a nail. Pin your curtains in the middle with safety pin so they won't move. Then put them up from the bottom in the middle as shown in the photo. Use another safety pin to pin them thru the other curtains on the back side. Love the new look of my new primitive curtains.
